Reading and having access to literacy in a variety of ways are very important here at B.E.E.S.  In addition to the classroom and school libraries we have, students can access books from a digital library program called myON that contains thousands of enhanced and age appropriate texts ranging from PreK-12. Each student has a profile which recommends the individual learner books based on interests, grade and Lexile reading level. myOn is able to measure student’s reading and is able to assess whether they are growing and on the path to reading proficiency through quizzes and real time data. The program is available 24/7 for students to access in and outside of the classroom.

Extended Learning Time (ELT) is an additional program students can enroll in, to enhance their time inside the classroom, once the traditional school day is over. Extended Learning Time is taught by the wonderful teachers here at B.E.E.S who already know what their student’s need academically in order to push student’s knowledge across all contents further. During ELT, students typically work on their homework in order to reinforce key concepts, process, solidify and clarify any new content learned in class that day. ELT occurs from 2:40 pm to 4:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. If interested please sign a permission slip which can be found in the main office.
