Our school’s Girls Group plays a crucial role in supporting middle school girls through the challenges of adolescence by focusing on social-emotional learning. This group provides a safe space for students to navigate the complexities of middle school life, build self-confidence, and develop strong interpersonal skills. Led and facilitated by our dedicated school social workers, Daphney Etienne and Tanayra Gayadin, the group empowers young girls to foster healthy relationships and manage the emotional and social pressures they face. Through this program, we aim to equip our students with the tools they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
Our school soccer team plays an important role in building school spirit, teamwork, and student engagement, offering athletes a valuable opportunity to develop both on and off the field. Traditionally, we’ve competed in the fall season, but this year, we’re excited to pilot the MSAL dual season soccer league, expanding our participation to both fall and spring. This new opportunity allows our students to further hone their skills, deepen team bonds, and represent BEES with pride across an extended season.
Our school basketball team is a vital part of our athletic program, promoting discipline, perseverance, and teamwork among students. Played during the winter months, the basketball season offers student-athletes a structured and competitive environment to grow both personally and athletically. It also brings our school community together, fostering school spirit and pride as we support our team throughout the season.
We’re thrilled to launch our inaugural kickball team this spring, adding a fun and inclusive sport to our athletic offerings through the MSAL. This new opportunity has generated a lot of excitement among our students, who are eager to try something fresh, build teamwork, and enjoy active play in a spirited environment. Kickball promises to be a great way for students to stay engaged, active, and connected this season.
We’re proud to introduce our inaugural Track Team in partnership with the NYC Road Runners, bringing an exciting new athletic opportunity to our students. Through this program, students will have the chance to compete at events across the city, both during the week and on weekends. This partnership not only promotes physical fitness and goal-setting but also gives our athletes the unique experience of representing BEES in competitive events throughout New York City.
Our BEES baseball team is a proud part of our spring athletics program, competing in the MSAL league. Baseball offers students a chance to build teamwork, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship while representing our school with pride. The spring season brings energy and excitement as our athletes take to the field, developing their skills and deepening their connection to the BEES community.
Our BEES flag football team is a dynamic part of our fall athletics lineup, competing in the MSAL league. The team offers students an exciting way to stay active, build teamwork, and develop leadership skills through fast-paced, strategic play. Each fall, our athletes take the field with determination and school pride, representing BEES with energy and sportsmanship.
Each year, our school proudly stages a full musical production, giving students the opportunity to shine through acting, singing, dancing, and behind-the-scenes work. Now in its fourth year, our musical program continues to grow in talent and excitement. This year, we’re thrilled to present Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr., a whimsical and heartwarming show that’s sure to delight audiences. In past years, our students have wowed the community with performances of Disney’s Moana Jr., Disney’s High School Musical Jr., and Once on This Island Jr.. These incredible productions are made possible through our ongoing collaboration with Broadway Jr. and The Town Hall, whose support has been instrumental in bringing the magic of live theater to BEES. We are proud to continue this creative tradition that fosters confidence, collaboration, and a love for the arts.
